Designing Assessments and Measuring Learning During the Pandemic

Date
Tuesday, January 19, 2021 - 2:00pm to 3:00pm
Location
CTET Zoom Room

The shift to online teaching has required faculty to adjust not only how their courses are taught, but how to measure student learning. Teaching remotely poses challenges for testing students and requires instructors to be thoughtful about designing measures that promote both student learning and academic integrity. In this workshop, two strategies are introduced to address these challenges. First, participants will learn ways to modify their approach to online testing during course design, prior to the beginning of the semester. Second, participants will learn effective practices in writing test questions that deepen learning and reduce academic dishonesty. There also will be ample time for participants to ask questions and share ideas with one another.
