The emergence of AI in higher education has been sudden and disruptive. Prof. Megan McIntyre of the University of Arkansas (and former SSU Writing Programs Director!) recently co-authored an essay called “Refusing GenAI in Writing Studies: A Quickstart Guide.” To help faculty better understand the strengths and challenges of this position, CTET’s John Lynch will facilitate a panel discussion including Megan herself, Prof. John Sullins III (Philosophy), and Prof. Deborah Roberts (Nursing). If you feel conflicted about the emergence of AI (and let’s be honest, who among us doesn’t?), come join us for what I hope will be an insightful and thought-provoking conversation about the role of AI in higher education.
