This summer, CSU Online Course Services (OCS) is offering a free course, "Introduction to Teaching Online using QLT." This three week course is fully online, fully asynchronous, and will take an estimated 15-20 hours per week. Participants in this course will learn about the 9-section QLT rubric, which helps faculty build online courses that provide the invisible affordances that students would normally get in-person, but are usually absent online. To learn more about this course and sign up for it, visit the OCS Professional Development website.

CSU faculty in the "Advanced QLT Course in Teaching Online" will actually create a course- and module-structure for a planned online course using the QLT rubric. Participants must have a partially- or fully-developed online or hybrid course prior to registration. During this three week, fully online, and fully asynchronous course (requiring an estimated 15-20 hours per week), participants will use the QLT rubric to review their course to ensure that it is well-aligned with course objectives. This course is not offered by CTET, but by the CSU Online Course Services (OCS) team. To learn more about this course and sign up for it, visit the OCS Professional Development website.

Participants in "Reviewing Courses Using the QLT Rubric" will explore the CSU Quality Learning and Teaching (QLT) rubric to learn how to better review and support online and hybrid courses. Participants will engage in hands-on experience with the QLT rubric by using its objectives to rate elements of sample courses, practicing write constructive recommendations, and discussing examples for peer-review processes that they could implement on their own campus. This course is not offered by CTET, but by the CSU Online Course Services (OCS) team. To learn more about this course and sign up for it, visit the OCS Professional Development website.
