Enhanced Teaching Skills with Canvas, Level 1-3...
This course guides faculty in evaluating course layout, assessments, engagement tools, student resources, and accessibility to enhance student learning and interaction.Delivered fully asynchronously, participants progress at their own pace with weekly module deadlines, optional synchronous workshops, and facilitator office hours for support.
Eligible participants who complete all requirements will receive a Completion Letter and a $300 stipend.
Fall 2025 Level 1 Cohorts:
Two-Week Intensive: Oct 13–26 (15–20 hrs/week)
Four-Week Course: Oct 13–Nov 9 (6–8 hrs/week)
Faculty who have completed CTET’s Level 1: Canvas Design Foundations, or plan to complete it during the Fall 2025 Cohort, are eligible to enroll in Level 2.
This course builds a practical understanding of effective online teaching strategies and the integration of technology to enhance learning.
Participants who complete all course requirements will receive a Completion Letter and a $300 stipend.
Fall 2025 Level 2 Cohorts:
Two-Week Intensive: Nov 10–24 (15–20 hrs/week)
Four-Week Course: Nov 10–Dec 7 (6–8 hrs/week)
If you’ve completed Levels 1 and 2, you’re eligible to enroll in Level 3: QLT Faculty Learning Community. You may also apply for the Winter ’26 cohort if you plan to finish Levels 1 and 2 during the Fall 2025 term.
Participants will collaborate on course design and apply the QLT rubric within their Canvas courses. Those who complete all requirements will receive a $400 stipend.
Level 3 Cohorts:
Four-Week Course: Oct 20–Nov 16, 2025 (6–8 hrs/week)
Two-Week Intensive: Jan 12–25, 2026
Quality Learning and Teaching is a CSU-wide standard for online, hybrid, or blended courses that put student success first and foremost. Courses that pass QLT's rigorous, multi-stage review process can display the QLT badge and are highlighted in the CSU's Online Course Match program. QLT certification is a natural next step for faculty who have already taken CTET’s Canvas Course Design Foundations (Level 1) and Online Facilitation Fundamentals (Level 2) courses and want to continue their development of online teaching expertise.
